Epi Process Leader

Our client is looking for an Epi Process leader who will be responsible for the design and development of process and film applications. The person we’re looking for must have have expertise in epi process development and applications in advanced logic and memory devices.

Responsibilities/Duties

THIS IS A VERY OPERATIONAL POSITION. We are looking for someone who will work with customers on strategic technology engagements, and with marketing, manufacturing and operations as well.

  • Lead a team of process engineers that develop novel Epi film deposition processes to meet new customer requirements.
  • Work with hardware and software teams to develop and improve process performance.
  • Employ process development methods such as DOE and systematic experimental design, and statistical data analysis skills to plan, analyze and summarize data.
  • Prepare and present data summaries to executive management and be capable of recommending and driving the appropriate technical direction.
  • Generate process technology IP that gives the company a competitive edge.
  • Stay abreast of state-of-the-art academic research and industry technological advances.
  • Initiate and foster collaborations with academia and consortia.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to less experienced engineers.
  • Support internal product development as well as external customer work.
  • Work closely with Business Development and Marketing teams for customer interactions.

 

Education and Experience

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics, with 12+ years’ experience, or M.S. in the same fields with 15+ years’ experience. Ph.D. preferred.
  • Expert in Epi processes. This is a must have.
  • Experience with 300mm semiconductor equipment and typical manufacturing fab process technology requirements.
  • Expert in thin film metrology, analytical techniques, and statistical data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with technology transfer of manufacturing processes.
  • Solid understanding of the relationship between process and hardware to develop high performing HVM semiconductor equipment.

 

Abilities

  • Proven track record of technical leadership of small groups of 3-4 engineers with the ability to provide guidance to less experienced engineers as well as a history of generating and executing program schedules thoroughly and on time.
  • The ability to work effectively in a highly leveraged fast-paced environment is a must.
  • Must possess solid communication skills and be able to present to executive staff and customers.
  • Must possess a positive, can-do attitude and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills.

 

Total compensation will range from $250k to $400k.

The company and the position are located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
